Preparation for any interview starts as you get the interview call letter from the consultant or the employer. Most important things to be done before attending the interview.
- Update your resume
- Passport size photograph
- Study in detail about the company like history,mission,vision and products etc on its website
- Check the Facebook/LinkedIn profiles of the interviewer , it can give you a idea what type can be expected in the interview. But never share the same in the interview.
If you want to make a good impression, then you have to start off by dressing professionally. You should be smartly dressed, which is far better than looking casual in front of formally-dressed interviewers. Physical appearance also is a major factor in selection.Do ensure that you reach the venue earlier than the time given by the interviewer. No interviewer likes late comers. Some are rejected here only either not interviewed for late coming as they planned your interview as per there schedule. But if you have to wait for interview due to various reasons that show patience.
At the time of interview when you enter the room be bold and give your interviewers a firm, confident handshake when you introduce yourself. Always maintain a eye contact with interviewers while interacting with them ,it show your confidence level. Always interact with a smiling face even you get angry also also. sometimes interviewers check the patience level of the candidates by annoying them so hold your nerves.
Be very very specific and precise while answering the questions of the interviewer. Do not speak of here and there while answering the questions , the interviewer may get irritated. If you do not know the answer of any question simply say sorry sir rather than talking of here and there. If the interviewer asks about your achievements than only share do say on your own or you can ensure the right time to share your achievements.Be focused and confident while answering the questions.
Avoid sharing over personal information as no one is interested in that.Do not share your family problems or such things in the interview as it show your unprofessional approach.
- Never ask about the compensation job before you’ve been given an offer. This may leave negative impact you can negotiate later at the time of accepting the offer letter and compensation offered by the company.
- Understand the job description and hierarchy of that position , if shortlisted
- Show your interest for the position
- Never say bad words about your existing or previous employer
- you can politely give follow up call for knowing the result of the interview , it shows your interest in that position
